You’ve put in the hours, possibly even loads of overtime, this year and now that Summer is over – you’re ready for a much-deserved vacation. Traveling in the off-peak season such as September through the first of November can not only be highly enjoyable, it can also be much cheaper than travel through the Summer or during the winter holidays. However, there are some other tips and tricks that you can use to not only save you even more money but can also help you avoid the high stress all-too-often experienced with vacation travel.

A Little Light Research Can Save You More Than You May Expect

Airfare costs can be all the difference in the world between a cheap trip and an expensive one and there are plenty of ways to save money on flights. Here are a few tried and true practices that can save you more than a couple of bucks.

Compare Flights ‘Incognito’ – using your browser’s incognito, private window, or stealth feature will prevent your computer from tracking your browsing history. Sites like Expedia, Priceline and will sometimes raise the price of the exact same flight each time you search for it, and incognito mode prevents this from happening.

Experiment With Different Flight Times/Dates – If your schedule is flexible, especially in regards to leave/arrive times, you can find some drastic differences in price simply by checking different variations. Leaving on a Tuesday versus a Friday or 9 pm versus 7 am, can result in savings of anywhere from $30-$40, or even hundreds of dollars.

Use Apps/Services To Alert You To Deals –  Services such as Next Vacay or Skyscanner are very easy ways to save money. Simply input your desired airport and Next Vacay will alert you via daily emails to flight deals at that airport as well as other nearby airports or set an alarm on Skyscanner for the desired destination and it will let you know when prices go down so that you can take advantage of great deals. You can also use Twitter to find last minute deals by following services such as @SecretFlying which posts some of the cheapest fares available.

What About The Trip TO The Airport?

While utilizing a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft to get you to the airport may seem like a good idea at first, there are a few things you may want to consider. First and foremost, your airport may not even allow them on the property – there are several airports where you can end up stranded awhile waiting on your appointed ride simply because they are trying to ‘sneak’ onto the property to pick you up.

Depending on what time of day or night that you depart/arrive, you could again be stuck waiting for your pickup – whether for the ride to the airport or for one back home. But with the expensive and sometimes unsecured parking lots of the country’s airports, especially at SeaTac, what is the best option?

That Would Be Ajax Parking

With a secure lot that is monitored and patrolled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every single day of the year, Ajax is the parking solution you need for your trips in and out of SeaTac. Don’t depend on someone else to get you to the airport on time, park your car with us at least 15 minutes bore your desired arrival time and our shuttle will get you there completely hassle-free. And with Ajax, you know that your vehicle will be cared for like it was our very own.

Travel should be affordable and worry-free and with the above tips, and a little homework, you can save yourself enough money to bring Grandma a better souvenir than something at the SeaTac airport.
